Welcome to the world of creepy crawlies! Here lie all the basement dwellers that spook us now
and then, and the ones we see out in the woods that we hope don't get near us.
You ever go near
that dark corner in your basement and see a web and hope nothing's in it?
Well even if there is
something there, it's probably just a cellar spider, often called a "daddy longlegs".
These guys
don't hurt you, but instead just find the darkest and furthest corner
to try and catch any
unprepared smaller bugs that they can make their next easy meal.
Another creature from the deep is the tarantula, and although some people might find them
cool (like me), these venomous spiders are still pretty scary to see up close. Imagine a fuzzy
spider as big as your hand, and on top of being huge, their venom can cause a serious reaction
if it bites you. Maybe not enough to kill you, but certainly enough to warrant a trip to the
hospital just in case. On second thought, maybe I'll keep my distance from these guys, last
thing I need is to get antivenom because a spider with several inch long legs bit me.
